STORM Rise to the Challenge at 2025 Abu Dhabi International Swimming Championships Swim Meet

Updated: 18 hours ago

A Weekend of Performance, Progress & STORM Spirit

The 2025 Abu Dhabi International Swimming Championships will be a swim meet to remember for STORM. Our swimmers competed against 65 teams and delivered performances that truly reflected their hard work, commitment, and growing competitive mindset.

We are extremely proud to finish 9th overall — a result that becomes even more impressive when you look beyond the leaderboard and into the numbers behind it.

Ukrainian Athlete Sofiia Kulykivska smashed the UAE Age Group Record in the 100m Backstroke while representing STORM. Sofiia broke the record with a time of 1.09.67 - impressive stuff!

Swimming Competition Results: How Storm Finished 9th Overall

Here’s what makes this result so special:

  • Average team size in the Top 9: 65 swimmers

  • STORM Swimming Academy team size: 27 swimmers

  • Storm competed with just 41% of the average team size

And yet…

Per swimmer, STORM Academy performed over 2.4 times stronger than the average top team.

This confirms what we believe deeply at STORM: quality, depth, and efficiency matter more than size.

Competitive Swimming Development Beyond Medals

While the podium finishes were outstanding, what truly stood out was the progress across the entire team:

  • Many personal best times

  • Improved race confidence

  • Stronger resilience, power, and commitment

  • Swimmers are racing smarter and embracing the competitive environment

The level of improvement genuinely blew us away.

Why Parent Support Matters in Competitive Swimming

None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our Storm parents — from early mornings to long competition days, constant encouragement, and trust in the process.

You are the backbone of our swimmers’ success, and we are incredibly grateful.

Final Word

This weekend wasn’t just a success — it was a statement.

With a small but mighty team, STORM Swimming Academy proved that focus, coaching quality, and commitment deliver results.

STORM is rising.
